Guitar Tricks

This is massive. It does offer guitar lessons for beginners but I really think it's best suited to the intermediate guitar player who wants to learn the more advanced guitar tricks. Why? Because payment is by monthly subscription and it takes time to learn the basics, Don't spend more money than you have to.

Having said that, once you are past the early stages in your guitar playing life the quality of material here is without parallel online. You have 40+ tutors teaching their specialities. Masses of videos that you can play over and over. A very lively forum where you can talk over guitar playing problems with fellow students. The option to drop out any time and renew at a later date. There's also an annual subscription fee that can save you quite a few bucks.

Now, if you took the time to visit the site you will have seen that there is a beginners section that looks very attractive, and if money is no object to you indeed it is. But, it takes time to get through the basics of playing a guitar properly. In my case it was more than four months playing pretty much the same exercises and the same scales and chords over and over. It doesn't make economic sense to my way of thinking to pay for the same material four times!

So, my advice would be to take a more basic course to start with, get a real feel for the guitar and the kind of music you want to play, then come back to Guitar Tricks and start polishing up your techiniques. Make sense? At the same time, don't forget the courses are there and they are being added to and improved all the time. And be sure to take full advantage of the free lessons that will teach you a number of things, including how far you have to go in this musical journey of ours. Here's a little video to encourage you.
